You can now play Dota 2 Reborn!
You can now finally play Dota 2 Reborn. Announced last week, the “beta” was divided in a 3-part blog posts which presents the main features of the new Dota 2 Reborn.
The new interface provides a much better overview of the current news about Dota. It also has an activity feed where you can even post your own “status”. On the upper right, there is a small part that displays your profile. You can customize the heroes and statistics shown to your liking.
The profile page shows you some awesome stats. You can compare this to other players by visiting their profile too. The activity feed shows your friends activity and their achievements.
The heroes tab initially shows 3 random heroes with their new “sets”. Clicking on a hero in the grid view will show a hero along with the sets you can purchase from the shop. You can also try the hero by clicking “Demo Hero”.
You can find a match by clicking “Play Dota” on the bottom right of the screen or you can join public lobbies. The beacon icon near your photo at the bottom can be toggled to show that you are looking for a party.
The custom games has a lot in common to Dota 2’s predecessor. You need to install the custom game in order to play it. You can also upvote custom games made by the community. Now that Dota 2 is powered by the Source 2 engine. It will enable the community to easily develop custom games.
With its new sleekier interface and better under-the-hood changes, Dota 2 Reborn will definitely entice current players to play (and buy) more. I will not be surprised if players from other MOBA will shift to Dota 2. For more detailed improvements and changes, check out the links below.
